The ranting of a mother and advocate for Type one diabetes. The founder of www.diabetesadvocacy.com welcomes you to journey through life with a son with Type 1
They say that a picture is worth a thousand words.
I was going through old pictures today and came across this one of my son taken over eight years ago. Seeing the expression on his face broke my heart. There are no other words....
Awwwe. I too, was looking back at photos. For me, it was the photos taken just before diagnosis and then while in the hospital. I hope someday soon, our kids and all teens and adults will be able to live a life without needles!
Oh, so sad. Having accidentally stuck myself both with lancet and stepped on a sil needle (don't ask), I know I was surprised by how much it hurt. Our endo had always used the word "discomfort".... Not to mention the body image issues. Insulin saves their lives, but at a high price. I'll bet he doesn't give pumping too much thought today. I so hope if not a cure, at least a more livable drug or technolgy.
